Gravitating towards the gymnasium Rowlands' will investigate the spatial complexities of this space. In the early 1900’s the gymnasium was a popular training center for many young men from around Melbourne and home to many of the top wrestlers. Over the years the space has been a final resting point for retired office furniture and a vast collection of old station related material. Rowlands' has now cleaned the space, and reinstated the original boxing ring. His aim now is to reactivate the gym through a series of sculptural actions that will utilize some of the found office furnishings. With a chance meeting with one of the original gym members, age 95, this investigation is sure to engage both the past history and current readings of this space..
